About Vrasna Beach

Vrasna Beach is located near Thessaloniki, close to Asprovalta. Vrasna Beach is the longest European beach at 10 km long. Depending on where along the beach you are you will find either sand or small pebbles. The beautiful turquoise water of Vrasna Beach is deep and impressively clear. You can see to the bottom of the water as far as 30 meters from the shore.

This beach has been awarded the Blue Flag for high standards of quality, safety, and protection of the environment. The beach is maintained on a daily basis.

There are also many restaurants and bars and just a few shops around this beach. Some areas of the beach are organized with sun beds and umbrellas while others allow you to bring your own supplies and set up your own spot.

Spend Time at Vrasna Beach

At 10 km long, Vrasna Beach in Thessaloniki is ideal for long, romantic walks along the shore. If you visit this beach with your family, especially small children, you want to be with them in the water as there is no gradual entry into deeper water. It is a steep drop into deeper water, so practice safety at all times. Other than this, Vrasna Beach is a lovely place to bring your family. There is no nightlife in the area, so you can be sure you’ll enjoy a peaceful time.

Close to Vrasna Beach is Asprovalta Village and Beach. Asprovalta is a large and popular tourist resort located in the center of the Striminokos Gulf. Asprovalta translates to “White Valley,” and it lives up to its name with no hills or elevations. The village square is located at the seafront and makes a lovely place to sit with its benches and fountains. There are some camping sites in the area as well as hotels and other tourist facilities. Asprovalta Beach is long like Vrasna Beach and features crystal waters. Parts of the beach are organized. Another beach close to Vrasna and Asprovalta is Akrogiali Beach. If you travel a few kilometers south of Asprovalta you can visit eastern Halkidiki.

Getting to Vrasna Beach

You can get to Vrasna Beach from Thessaloniki by bus, which is the most convenient and affordable way to get there. The bus trip takes about an hour and a half. A taxi ride from Thessaloniki to Vrasna Beach will take about 50 minutes and is the most expensive option. Renting a car is a good option if you prefer to travel at your own pace and stop to see sights along the way.
