Meteora is a rock formation located in Greece. The areas is home to a complex of Eastern Orthodox monasteries. Six of the original twenty-four original monasteries still exist at the site today. These six monasteries include: the Monastery of Great Meteoron, the Monastery of Varlaam, the Monastery of Rousanou, the Monastery of St. Nicholas Anapausas, the Monastery of St. Stephen, and the Monastery of the Holy Trinity.
