Rhodes is known as being one of the must unique islands in all of Greece. The reason for this is that it has a rich and unique history since, at one time, it was the official seat of the Knights of Saint John. Besides that, however, it is a gorgeous Greek island that has beautiful scenery and some of the best beaches in all of Greece. Ixia Beach is one of those places you should head to while here. Getting to Ixia Beach
For those who are staying near Rhodes Town, Ixia Beach is conveniently located nearby. It’s only 5 kilometers, or 3 miles, away from the main town. This means that no matter where you are on the island, all you need to do is head to Town and then rent a taxi, take a bus, or drive you rental car to Ixia Bay, which is where the beach is. To get to the island of Rhodes, you have choice between taking a flight into the regional airport from Athens or elsewhere in Greece or Europe or taking a ferry into the main port on the island.

Ixia Beach is located on Ixia Bay, which is an area of the island near Rhodes Town that has plenty for people to see and do. The long stretch of beach is made of fine pebbles and is in a very scenic area. Since the pebbles are hard to walk on, you should be sure to bring the right shoes while on the beach. Along the bay there is an area that has plenty of shops, restaurants, and cafes to enjoy. So, when you head to this area, you can do more than just lounge on the beach. You’ll want to spend some time exploring the area. This area is so scenic that it is widely regarded as one of the prettiest beaches on the island. What to Do at Ixia Beach
As mentioned above, this beach is made of fine pebbles and not sand. This mans you’ll want to wear a sturdy pair of shoes, especially if you plan on walking along the shore. This is also a great beach for lounging and since this area is so built up, there are plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas to rent. It stays warm into October, which means that it is possible to have a good beach day late in the season. Besides lounge in the sun and walk, this is a popular beach for windsurfers since the winds are fairly consistent. Consider trying it out while you’re here! There are some nearby places where you can rent equipment. There are also plenty of hotels nearby so if you love the beach, you can base your trip to Rhodes here so you can have plenty of beach days.
While on Rhodes, you’ll no doubt want to see some of the historical sites. However, that is not all the island has to offer. Consider visiting scenic places such as Ixia Beach while you’re here, as well.
