Visit the Beaches

Skala Beach is just 2 km east of Megalochori, making it a convenient beach to visit. Thanks to its location, the beach is close to amenities including seaside cafes, tavernas, and hotels. Skala Beach is family friendly and partly organized. Other beaches on the island of Agistri include: Dragonera Beach located 3 km southwest of Megalochori, Aponissos Beach located 8 km southwest of Megalochori, and Mariza Beach. Mariza Beach is 5 km south of Megalochori. It is a secluded and non-organized beach.
Spend Time at the Capital
Megalochori, or Mylos, is the capital of Agistri Island. Megalochori is located on the northern side of the island. Here you will find charming cobblestone streets and stone houses. There is a windmill that adds to the beauty of the capital. The sandy beaches with turquoise waters shouldn’t be missed. If you visit the Chirch of Agioi Pantes, you will be treated to amazing views from where it sits on a hill of the capital village of Megalochori.

Explore the History
Step back in time with a visit to the Ancient Town of Kadoudi, the old capital of the island of Agistri. Kadoudi means “old village.” When visiting this old settlement, you can explore what’s left of the village. A couple of chapels you will want to see are the Chapel of Agioi Pandes and the Chapel of Agioi Theodoroi. These chapels can be found within the pine woods. The Ancient Town of Kadoudi is just a 10 minute walk from Megalochori.
