The Greek island of Thasos is known as the island of green and blue thanks to its beautiful waters that surround the coastline and the verdant vegetation within the island. The natural beauty of the island is clear in the beaches. Here are some of the beaches you can visit while on the island of Thasos.

Paradise Beach

Paradise Beach is located 30 km from Potos and 24 km from Limenas. This long beach features fine sand and turquoise waters. Paradise Beach is considered one of the most beautiful beaches of Thasos for good reason. The sand of the beach extends into the water, making this an ideal beach for families with young children.

The wind and waves are perfect for water sports like windsurfing. The left side of the beach is reserved for nudists. Parking is available beside the highway that leads to the beach. On the beach there is a restaurant and a coffee shop. Green mountains surround the beach adding to its beauty.

Marble Beach

Marble Beach, also known as Saliara Beach, is located 4 km from Makryammos, on the north side of the island. The water is a breathtaking color, similar to turquoise. The coast of the beach is covered with fine white marble-like pebbles that make it look like its covered in snow. The beach is well-known for these pebbles. This exotic-looking beach is a must-see if you’re on the island of Thasos.

Golden Beach

Golden Beach in Thasos, Greece is located 12 km southeast of Limenas. The beach stretches along the coast between the resorts of Skala Potamias and Skala Panagias. The golden sand of this beach is impressive and ideal for lounging under the sun. The waters are crystalline and perfect for swimming and water sports. You can play volleyball on the beach, which is also organized with sun beds and umbrellas. The beach is surrounded by greenery and Mount Ypsarion rises over the bay.

Makriamos Beach

Located 2 km from Limenas, Makriamos (Makryammos) Beach is especially popular during the summer months. Makriamos Beach is family friendly and organized. The beach is located at a wonderfully landscaped area that includes an amusement park, swimming pool, and different sports. The beach of Makriamos is sandy and the shoal is long. Makriamos Beach is the only one on the island of Thasos that requires an entrance fee, but when you consider all there is to do, it’s well worth the admission.

Palio Limani Beach

Palio Limani Beach is within walking distance of Limenas, in front of the old port. If you’re looking for a beach that isn’t far from the city center, this is the perfect choice. Palio Limani Beach is family friendly and organized. Pine trees around the beach provide shade and beauty. On the beach there are two rows of sun beds and umbrellas. There is easy access to restaurants, cafeterias, and beach bars from the beach of Palio Limani in Thasos, Greece.
