Favorite Beaches to Visit on Mykonos

View of Ftelia beach in Mykonos city, GreeceThe beaches on the gorgeous island of Mykonos, which is located in the Cyclades, are amongst the best that Greece has to offer. Warm waters, golden sun, and soft sand are all part of the beach experience here. Since Mykonos also has a reputation for attracting a party crowd, you can also find that kind of scene at the beaches, as well.

However, there are so many beaches here on the island, there is certainly something here for everyone. Whether you’re a family looking for a gentle beach day, a young group of travelers looking for a party, or someone who just wants to lounge on the beach in relative solitude, there is a beach here for you.

Here are some of our favorite beaches to visit on the Greek island of Mykonos:

Ftelia

If you’re looking for a beach that you can access easily from Mykonos Town, it doesn’t get more convenient than Ftelia! Because the beach is located right where most of the cruise ships dock, it can also be pretty crowded, especially during peak tourist season. If you love the bustle of activity, however, this is the perfect place for you! The beach attracts both families and those who want to party, which means that the crowd is pretty diverse. This beach is characterized by its beautiful, golden sand and crystal clear waters.

Kalo Livadi

Kalo Livadi is a fairly long beach, which means that there is plenty of room for everyone, no matter how intense the crowds are. This beach is most known for its lively, party atmosphere, though, so if you want a quieter spot this isn’t the beach for you. At the same time, this beach is also family friendly, especially early on in the day before the party goers come out to play. The water here is clean and fairly shallow, which means that parents with young children will take enjoyment here. It is also fairly noisy here so it isn’t the beach for you if you want seclusion.

Agia Anna

Agia Anna Beach is much quieter than some of the other beaches on the island, so this is a good choice if you want to get away from the tourist crowds. It is about six kilometers away from Chora, so if you didn’t rent a car, you’ll want to take a bus or taxi to get there. This beach is located near a slightly larger beach called Paraga Beach, which works in your favor if you want to enjoy the peace and quiet.

Panormos

Panormos is another one of those beaches that is absolutely perfect for those who are looking for some peace and quiet. Like Agia Anna, it is also located about six kilometers away from Chora. This means that it is close enough to the island’s main hub to be easy to access, but not so close that it attracts unmanageable crowds. Even though it is a bit tucked away, however, it is still lively enough to be enjoyable.

While on the island of Mykonos, you won’t want to miss these spectacular beaches!
