The island of Agistri is blessed with natural beauty. The island is rich in olive trees, pine trees, and wildflowers. You will experience the scents of thyme and oregano while exploring Agistri. Some of the most beautiful areas to see are the beaches and hidden coves. Here are some of the beaches you can visit while on the Greek island of Agistri.

Aponissos Beach

Located 8 km southwest of Megalochori on the southern side of the island, Aponissos Beach is a small, secluded bay. Aponissos Beach is surrounded by beautiful greenery, which adds to the ambiance of the area. The water of the beach is an exotic blue green color that will take your breath away and draw you in for an afternoon of swimming. When you’re ready for a meal and refreshing drink, there is a tavern on site that is open during the spring and summer. The tavern offers a view of the bay and the islets that sit offshore. You can get to Aponissos Beach by taking the bus from Megalochori or from Skala.

Dragonera Beach

Dragonera Beach is located 3 km southwest of Megalochori on the western side of the island. This lovely pebbled beach is organized with sun beds and umbrellas. There is one tavern at the beach where you will be treated to delicious food and drinks. The beach doesn’t often get too crowded, so it’s the perfect beach to visit if you’re looking for a laid-back afternoon at the beach. Dragonera Beach allows you to enjoy the beach and the mountains from one location. Spend some time walking around the area to experience it in full. If you want to camp, there is free camping available at Dragonera Beach.

Megalochori Beach

Megalochori Beach is situated directly in front of the village of Megalochori on the northern side of Agistri Island. This partly organized beach has some sun beds and umbrellas available. Megalochori Beach, along with the village, are both quiet and reflect the atmosphere of Agistri Island.

In the village of Megalochori you will find a wide selection of cafes, bars, and restaurants. If you take a walk around the village, you will be able to admire the stone houses and other traditional features. Megalochori Beach is a relaxing spot to spend time lounging on the and swimming in the gorgeous waters.

Skala Beach

Located just 2 km from Megalochori, Skala Beach is long and sandy with shallow crystalline waters. These water make Skala Beach an ideal place for families with young children. It is also one of the few sandy beaches on the island of Agistri, which makes it comfortable for adults and children alike. At the nearby village you will find taverns, bars, restaurants, and hotels. There are also some night clubs where you can go to enjoy good music and drinks if you’re in the mood for a little nightlife.
