This traditional sauce is common in the Peloponnese. Be sure to use the small, brined capers. If you can’t find those in the store, simply omit that part of the sauce.
Greek Style Wine and Honey Sauce Recipe Ingredients:
- 2 soft boiled eggs (boiled for 4 minutes)
- 2 tablespoons Greek honey
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- 1/4 cup dry red wine
- 1 tablespoon small capers, rinsed
- 2 tablespoons fresh, chopped parsley
Instructions on How to Prepare Greek Style Wine and Honey Sauce:
Slice open the egg and empty the yolks into a small bowl.
Stir in the honey, salt, and pepper and mix well until smooth.
Slowly mix in the wine, drop by drop, until the sauce is smooth.
Quickly stir in the capers and parsley. You’ll want to serve this sauce immediately.
