Recipe for Greek Walnut Cookies

Written by in , Comments Off on Recipe for Greek Walnut Cookies

It’s pretty common in Greek desserts to use pulverized nuts and use in place of regular flour. This cookie uses walnuts, but you could easily substitute other nuts that you may have on hand.

Greek Walnut Cookies Recipe Ingredients:

  • 3 cups whole walnuts (these will be pulverized, meaning they will be taking the place of regular flour)
  • 2 sticks butter, at room temperature
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup Greek honey
  • 3 large eggs

Instructions on How to Bake Greek Walnut cookies:

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray a baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray.

Pulse the walnuts in a food processor until pulverized. Set aside.

Cream the butter and sugar together using an electric mixer that has been set to medium.

Raise the mixer to medium high speed and beat the honey until smooth.

Add the eggs one at a time, beating as you do.

Remove the mixer from the bowl and stir in the walnuts. Keep stirring until a smooth batter forms. Be careful not to over mix.

Form the cookies into flat disc shapes or crescent shapes and place on the baking sheet. Bake until light golden brown in color. This should take 15 minutes.

Remove the sheet from the oven and let the cookies cool in the pan.
