Recipe for Greek Style Spit Roasted Pig

Roasting animals on spits is common in Greece. Although lambs and goats are the most common, Greeks roast pigs, too.

Greek Style Spit Roasted Pig Recipe Ingredients:

  • 1 whole pig of 10-15 pounds
  • 2 tablespoons Greek honey
  • 2 recipes ladolemono

Instructions on How to Make Greek Style Spit Roasted Pig:

Prepare the coals or fire that will go underneath the spit.

Tie the pig onto the spit using kitchen twin or butcher’s string. Brush the pig all over with the honey.

Prepare the ladolemono according to the recipe instructions. Brush the pig with the ladelemono.

Roast the pig, rotating it constantly, until it is cooked all the we through. This should take 2 – 2 1/2 hours total.

Note: You’ll want to make sure there spit is about two feet above the fire.
