Written by in , Comments Off on Recipe for Greek Style Shrimp With Tomatoes and Feta

This dish is best when using the freshest shrimp you can find. The larger the shrimp are, the better. If you can’t find fresh shrimp, feel free to use it frozen, as long as it is uncooked before freezing.

Greek Style Shrimp With Tomatoes and Feta (Garides Tourkolimano) Recipe Ingredients:

  • 3 pounds uncooked large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup Greek olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 green bell peppers, chopped
  • 3 tomatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3/4 cup dry white wine
  • 1 pound feta cheese, crumbled

How to Prepare Greek Shrimp With Tomatoes and Feta:

Add the shrimp to a mixing bowl and sprinkle with lemon juice. Stir to incorporate and set aside.

Pour the olive oil into a deep skillet and set the heat on medium. Add the garlic and green peppers and saute for five minutes, or until the pepper gets soft. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes or until they turn slightly pink.

Stir in the tomatoes, oregano, salt, pepper, and white wine and lower the heat to medium-low. Cover and simmer for about twenty minutes to let the flavors combine.

After twenty minutes, stir in the feta cheese and serve.
