This savory sauce features pine nuts as the main ingredient. It is typically used as a garnish on meat and seafood dishes.
Greek Style Pine Nut Sauce (Koukoumaria Saltsa) Recipe Ingredients:
- 1 1/4 cups pine nuts
- 1 small garlic clove, chopped
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1/3 cup Greek olive oil
- 1/4 cup fresh, chopped herbs
- Chicken broth, if needed
Instructions to Prepare Pine Nut Sauce:
Add the pine nuts to the bowl of a food processor. Pulse until the pine nuts resemble a coarse meal.
Place the rest of the ingredients in the food processor. Pulse until smooth.
If the sauce is still too thick, add some chicken broth one tablespoon at a time and pulse until desired consistency is achieved.
