Unity Breakfast at Taxiarchae/Archangels Greek Church Watertown MA

January 20, 2020 @ 8:30 am - 11:00 am

The Watertown Unity Breakfast is a Watertown tradition that brings together hundreds of people, as well as busineses and civic organizations, representing Watertown’s diverse population to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The 2020 Unity Breakfast will be our 20th anniversary event, and will be held on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, January 20, at the Hellenic Center in East Watertown.

The Honorary Convener for this year’s event will be Deanne (“Dede”) Galdston, Superintendent of the Watertown Public Schools. The keynote speaker will be Jonathan Lewis, a dynamic speaker and experienced trainer with practical expertise in using Dr. King’s principles of nonviolence for resolving conflict. He has led workshops and conducted trainings throughout the world (including Mexico, Colombia, South Africa, Israel, and Nigeria.)

As in previous years, the program will include art work, essays, anc music from from Watertown Middle and High School students, and presentation of the Unity Award to a person or organization demonstrating outstanding community service in the previous year.

And as always, participants will be treated to a hearty breakfast provided by the Watertown Deluxe Diner.

Families and children are welcome and encouraged to join us. Children under 12 are free, and childcarewill be provided for young children.
