Written by in , Comments Off on Nightlife to Enjoy in Nafplio, Greece

Nafplio, Greece is a seaport town in the Peloponnese. Nafplio was the first capital of the newly established Greek state and was home to the first pharmacy, theatre, and printing office. That history along with the red-tiled roofs, cobbled streets, and buildings of Venetian architecture, will take you back in time. Castles, archaeological sites, and monuments can be found around the town. Needless to say there is plenty to see and do during the day in Nafplio, but what about the night? Don’t worry, the town of Nafplio has you covered there, too.

Watch the Sunset

Watching the sunset anywhere in Greece is a beautiful moment and Nafplio is no different. There are many places to watch the sunset, but a few spots where you might enjoy it with a wonderful and unobstructed view. One of these ideal spots if the clock tower at the Fortress of Acronafplia. The Fortress is located on a hill and a climb up will reward you greatly, not only with the beautiful sunset, but a view of the Argolic Gulf, the city of Nafplio, and Arvanitia Beach. Across from Bourzi Castle you will find Akti Miaouli Street, another good spot to sunset watch.

Enjoy a Late Meal

The town of Nafplio is home to many restaurants with extensive menus. Whether you’re looking for a casual late-night meal with the family or a romantic dinner for two, you will find what you’re looking for. A few local specialties you might want to try include mpogana, which is lamb cooked in a pot all day; gkokes, a dish made of homemade pasta served with local cheese and olive oil; and gournopoula, a dish made of pig roasted in an oven. If you enjoy wine with your meal, a wine bar such as 3SIXTY (grill dining and wine bar) is perfect for you.

Visit a Bar or Club

Nafplio is a great place to find nightlife if you’re in town. Much of the clubs and bars can be found around the waterfront area. You’re also provided with a great view of Bourtzi Castle and the port from many of them. You can also find some bars at Syntagma Square and around the streets of the Old Town. In the suburbs, you will find all-night clubs.

In Nafplio, you will find beach bars, pubs, and bars. Blublanc is a beach club that is located at Nafplion Beach. At Blublanc you have drinks and food choices including: beer, cocktails, ice cream, coffee, other snacks, and more. There is a Greek and Mediterranean take-away restaurant on site. Free umbrellas and sun beds are available as well. Different bars play different types of music. Some play jazz, some rock, and some no music at all. If you don’t mind a 15 minute drive and want to explore a different area’s night life, you can head to Tolo where you’ll find more bars.

Whether you’re looking for a romantic night or want to drink and listen to good music, Nafplio, Greece has it.
