The Hellenic-American Caucus "OBAMA2008" is a grass-roots effort to inform and recruit Americans of Hellenic descent in support of Barack Obama's 2008 presidential campaign.
As a member of the United States Senate, Barack Obama has supported Greece and Cyprus. Most notably, Obama co-sponsored S. Res. 300, calling upon the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) to “stop the…hostile activities or propaganda and should work with the United Nations and Greece to…finding a mutually-acceptable official name for FYROM.” Currently, S. Res. 300 is before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
Barack Obama promises to bring change to Washington. Change in economic policy, education, energy, the environment, healthcare and foreign policy, including an end to the Iraq war.
As Americans of Hellenic descent let’s help Barack bring that change.
If enough Greeks show support and join the group, the campaign will hold a special Hellenic Fundraiser featuring Barack and his political and celebrity friends and supporters! This would be a HUGE step for the Greek community and its' influence!
