- 2, 15 ounce cans chickpeas
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
How to make Greek Spicy Chickpeas:
Preheat oven to 200 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray.
Drain the chickpeas into a colander and rinse with water. Remove from the colander after most of the water drains and spread in a single layer onto absorbent paper towels. Pat gently with paper towels until a lot of the moisture is absorbed.
Transfer chickpeas to a mixing bowl. Stir in olive oil, salt, pepper, cumin, and garlic powder. Transfer the chickpeas to the baking sheet, making sure that the beans are spread over the surface of the sheet into a single layer.
Place the baking sheet in the center of the oven and bake until the chickpeas are crispy. This should take 50-60 minutes. You want them to bake slowly so that they get crispy without burning. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and serve immediately. If you decide not to eat them right away, let them cool completely before transferring them to an airtight container.
