Comments Off on Simple and Easy Greek Style Pizza
Even though pizza didn’t originate in Greece, that doesn’t mean that Greeks can’t enjoy it! It’s also easy to make, especially if you buy the crust. We didn’t include measurements here because everyone likes their pizza differently. Just eyeball the ingredients and it will taste delicious!
Simple and Easy Greek Style Pizza Recipe Ingredients:
- 1 Pizza dough (can buy from store)
- Tomato sauce (you will need 1/2 – 1 cup)
- Shredded cheese, such as kasseri, a Greek cheese, or mozzarella
- Greek-style toppings of choice, such as chopped onion, chopped pepper, diced tomatoes, crumbled feta cheese, Kalamata olives, etc (optional)
- Oregano, to garnish (optional)
How to Prepare Greek Style Pizza:
Preheat the oven to 425 Degrees Fahrenheit. Generously rub olive oil onto a round pizza pan. Roll out the pizza dough so that it fits perfectly in the pizza pan. Spread tomato sauce over the dough. Typically, you’ll need about 1/2 cup tomato sauce, but it all depends on how much salt you like.
Top with shredded cheese of choice. Sprinkle with any toppings you desire, or skip this step of you don’t desire toppings. Sprinkle the pizza with oregano, as well, if desired.
Place in the center of the preheated oven and bake until the cheese melts and begins to turn golden brown. This should take about 20 minutes. Let stand for 5 minutes before cutting the pizza.
