Glykisma Amigthalou - Almond Torte Ingredients: 2 1/2 cups sifted Flour Directions: Sift flour, baking powder and soda. Cream butter and sugar until light and
fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time; add sifted dry ingredients alternately
with yogurt , mixing well after each addition. Add almonds. Pour batter into greased pan. Bake in a
moderate oven for about 45 minutes. Cool. Boil sugar, water and lemon juice for 5 minutes. Pour syrup over almond torte. Cool and serve with whipped cream, if desired. Cut into 18 or 24 squares. |
